Every TICA-registered Oriental Shorthair kitten from Royal Oriental Cattery is $4,500. This applies whether you choose our most common Solid Ebony or an exceptionally rare Caramel, Cinnamon, or Lavender. We charge by quality standard, not color rarity.
Every kitten receives the same care, DNA testing, vet protocol, socialization period, and contract guarantees. Their value is the same. Charging more for "rare colors" pressures buyers to choose by economics rather than personality fit — which doesn't serve the cat or the family.

Flight nanny shipping: $400-$700 depending on destination. Professional accompanied air transport, in cabin not cargo. Optional — pickup welcome at Westminster MD.
Spay/neuter surgery: You arrange with your own vet between 5-7 months. $200-$500 by region.
Pet insurance: Recommended. $30-$80/month. Trupanion, Healthy Paws, Embrace, Pets Best, ASPCA.
Initial supplies: Litter, boxes, cat tree, bowls, scratcher — $200-$500 to start.
Deposit: 50% ($2,250) non-refundable. Reserves your specific kitten.
Balance: Remaining $2,250 due 2 weeks before delivery or at pickup.

Non-refundable means: if you change your mind, deposit is not returned. This protects the cattery (kitten removed from market) and other buyers (no shuffling between waitlisted buyers based on indecision).
However, we work with families on edge cases. If circumstances genuinely change (medical emergency, family crisis, military deployment), we can typically:
— Transfer deposit to a future litter
— Transfer to another currently-available kitten of equivalent value
— Refund minus 20% administrative fee in exceptional circumstances
1-Year Genetic Guarantee: If kitten diagnosed with congenital/genetic disease within 12 months, we provide replacement OR refund. Documented vet diagnosis required. Covers conditions present at birth not detectable at age 12 weeks.
2-Year HCM Guarantee: If board-certified veterinary cardiologist diagnoses HCM within 24 months, we provide replacement or refund. HCM can present age 1-3, hence extended coverage.
Return-to-Breeder Clause: If at any point you cannot keep the kitten, contact us FIRST. We always take back rather than have them go to a shelter.
Pet vs. Breeder Contract: Most kittens sold PET only (spay/neuter agreed). Breeder-quality occasionally available separately.
Indoor-Only Clause: Indoor only. Catios and leash-walking permitted. Free-roaming outdoors = contract violation.
Vet Care Standard: Maintain reasonable veterinary care — annual wellness, age-appropriate vaccinations, prompt response to illness.
You receive the full contract for review BEFORE placing any deposit. We walk through every clause with you on a phone call. Questions encouraged.
Enroll your new kitten in pet insurance within 14 days of go-home. Our guarantees cover specific genetic/cardiac conditions; insurance covers everything else: accidents, illness, surgery, dental, emergencies, chronic conditions, medications.
Why 14 days? Most insurers have a waiting period for pre-existing conditions. After 30+ days, anything diagnosed may be classified as pre-existing and excluded.
